The time has finally arrived, Cycle4haiti, the 215km cycle from Dublin to Galway with a goal of €50,000 for the Soul of Haiti begins tomorrow morning. George Hook will be there tomorrow to send us off!
Taoiseach Brian Cowen yesterday launched Cycle4haiti at Government buildings. Speaking at the launch An Taoiseach commented: “I would like to wish the cyclists taking part in Cycle4Haiti the very best of luck on their charity cycle from Dublin to Galway. This is a fantastic initiative for a deserving cause and I encourage people to get out and support them on their cross country journey.”
Activities begin from 8.30 tomorrow morning (Saturday) where family, friends and colleagues will be on hand to cheer the cyclists off. If you’re around Dublin city, make sure to pop over as there will be great excitement.
We are over half way to our goal of €50,000 so with a little more support along the way, we are sure to reach our goal for Haiti. Click here to donate online, alternatively, go to www.Cycle4haiti.com. If you see Cycle4haiti passing through your town, please give a big cheer for support.
Mary O’Rourke TD will be pushing us off from the Creggan Court Hotel in Athlone on Sunday Morning at 10am.
On arrival into Galway at 4pm on Sunday, cyclists will be met by supporters, Padraig O’Ceidigh, Chairman of Aer Arran and Deputy Major of Galway Councillor Peter Keane.
